Monday morning in Stonington at 7:05 AM
Sitting here in the kitchen having coffee and thinking about Omi. That grand old lady died last Wednesday morning at 2:00 am in the hospital at Blue Hills (Mar 25, 1992). She was 81.  I came to love her over the last three years and to appreciate what kind of magnificent woman she really was – I will miss her! 
Heli was with her when she died – Uschi and I were on the road racing to get there. We learned of Omi’s death on a pay phone on the turnpike in lower Maine. We went directly to the funeral home in Blue Hill and saw Omi as she was when she died. She looked at peace.

We waked her on Friday afternoon in Blue Hill and buried her in Oceanside, ME (Greenwood Cemetery) after a beautiful service at Deer Isle Church in Dear Isle, ME on Sat. the 28th.
