Omi trained as a chef in an exclusive Koenigsberg Hotel. Anyone who had the honor of eating at her table experienced her culinary skill. She always made sure we were well fed. A typical greeting was a hug first and food second.
A recipe most certainly acquired after Omi immigrated to the states. Probably from family in Arkansas. No Crisco in Koenigsberg.
Banana Bread
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup flour
3/4 cup mashed bananas
1/3 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
